BOOKS BY R.H. BISHOP

This is a contemporary traditional mystery series, featuring a female attorney detective, Lucy Sanders. Armando Felan, her young gay Latino assistant and sidekick, is (most of the time) the first person narrator.

Readers have compared their interactions to those of Nero Wolfe and his sidekick Archie Goodwin, and even to Sherlock Holmes series, calling Armando “one of the best new Watsons.”

While Lucy’s methods are more cerebral than action-oriented, the stories have twists and turns and climactic action that will keep readers turning the pages. Using the settings of San Diego, Washington, D.C., and a gay cruise ship, Bishop creates an atmosphere to transport the reader. The books also ground the reader in the border region, Mexican-American culture, and Armando’s experiences as a gay man.
